The 13th Clan Carmichael International Gathering

Sunday June 14th – Thursday June 18th, 2026

It is an honour to invite you all to the 13th Clan Carmichael International Gathering, to be held from June 14th to June 18th, 2026, here on our ancestral lands in Carmichael, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

Our last Gathering, held in 2023, was a long-awaited reunion after the disruptions of the pandemic years. It marked forty years since the very first Clan Carmichael Gathering in 1983, when my father, the late Chief Richard, pledged to hold three gatherings each decade in celebration of our shared heritage — a promise he faithfully kept.

In 2026, we will once again come together — this time to celebrate the life and legacy of Chief Richard, whose vision and dedication brought together generations of Carmichaels from across the world. This Gathering will be a heartfelt homecoming, a celebration of kinship, and an opportunity to reconnect with one another at the source of our name.

It will be my great privilege, together with my family who live here at Carmichael, to welcome you back home. We look forward to sharing with you not only the stories and history of our Clan but also the living, working Carmichael Estate as it is today.

Below is a brief outline of the Gathering programme. A detailed itinerary will follow in the Spring of 2026.

Outline Programme

Sunday, June 14, 2026 – Arrival Day

• Transfers from Edinburgh and Glasgow airports
• Church Service in Carmichael Church and Cairngryffe Parish (for early arrivals)
• Welcome Dinner on the Carmichael Estate

Monday, June 15, 2026 – Carmichael Day

• March to the source of the Carmichael name
• Clan speeches and stories at the Castle Caput of the Barony
• Carmichael Estate Farm Meats BBQ lunch
• Clan Carmichael Mini Highland Games
• Evening Ceilidh and Tartan Ball

Tuesday, June 16, 2026 – Exploring Southern Scotland

• Full-day coach excursion to a yet-to-be-announced attraction, including Lunch
• Dinner and evening social gathering

Wednesday, June 17, 2026 – A Celebration of Chief Richard’s Life

• A day of festival atmosphere and reflection at Carmichael Estate
• Learn about the workings and life of the modern Carmichael Estate
• Walk with your Chief and his family to the Hyndford Monument and through the ancient Carmichael lands
• A chance to share your Carmichael stories
• Gala Dinner and evening celebration

Thursday, June 18 2026 – Farewell Day

• Final “Carmichael Breakfast Club” gathering
• Departures and transfers to Edinburgh and Glasgow airports

Gathering Details and Pricing

Please note that you MUST be a member of Clan Carmichael International to attend the Clan Gathering.

As with all our previous gatherings, the 2026 event will be fully inclusive of accommodation, meals, transportation during the Gathering, entry fees, entertainment, and taxes.

• Gathering Package (4 nights / 3 full days): £950 per person
• Children (8 years & under, sharing a Clan Lands Cottage): £650
• Single Cottage Supplement: £75
• Local Hotel Supplement: £250 per person

What the gathering price DOES include: Accommodation (either Clan Lands Cottage or Local Hotel (supplement applies), Excursions, Entry Fees, Entertainment, All meals from Sunday 14^th Oct (dinner) through to Thursday 18^th Oct (breakfast), transportation for the duration of the gathering period (excluding airport transfers) and VAT.

What the gathering price does NOT include: Flights, Airport Transfers to and from Carmichael, Beverages, and Gratuities.

A deposit of £250 per person is required to secure your place. The deposit is non-refundable but will be carried forward should the event be postponed for any reason.

The final balance is due by April 30th, 2026, and is refundable for cancellations made before May 1st, 2026.

After more than four decades of Clan Gatherings, it is one of my greatest honours to continue this tradition of unity, friendship, and pride in our shared heritage. My family and I look forward to welcoming you home to Carmichael in 2026 — to celebrate our past, honour Chief Richard, and strengthen the bonds that connect Carmichaels around the world.
